Indigenous History, Sovereignty, and Cultural Awareness Certificate (Microcredential)
The Indigenous History, Sovereignty, and Cultural Awareness microcredential promotes the concept of indigenous education for everyone. Combining courses in multicultural education, indigenous history, art and culture, and contemporary issues with an emphasis on academic service-learning, the microcredential provides current educators and educators in training with the opportunity to gain competency in equity and inclusion by developing an awareness, attitude, knowledge, and skills required to learn, teach about, and engage with Indigenous nations while recognizing the systems, structures, and polices of racism, including settler colonialist toward Indigenous people.
