Associate of Science in Teaching
The A.S. in Teaching degree prepares students to succeed in a teacher education degree program. Students will complete the foundations of education courses needed to move directly into the Teacher Education Program at UW-Superior in a cost-effective and learner-centered environment. Students will also receive individualized academic advising to help them transition into the Teacher Education Program. Completion of the AS degree satisfies University Studies requirements at other University of Wisconsin System universities.
The AS degree does not lead to teacher licensure but does prepare students to transition into a teacher licensure program. Admission to the Teacher Education Program at UW-Superior is also contingent upon a cumulative grade point average minimum of 2.75, submission of criminal background check (CBC), a P in T ED 100 Orientation to Teacher Education, and a B in T ED 200 Introduction to Education.
